Holy Cocktail! Batman Turns 75!

In honor of Batman turning 75 years old today, we here at Producers in Bars have compiled a list that only we can. We've scoured the internet, and by internet, we of course mean YouTube, for our favorite clips that had something to do with the adult beverage. Holy Cocktail, Batman!

Batman TV Show

People have their favorite Batmans over the years, but for us, it starts and ends with Adam West from the TV Show. The Caped Crusader was as squeaky clean as they come back then. There was no dark back story, no dark secret. Just a good man in light blue tights, a dark blue cape, and a mask with eyebrows (anyone else find that strange?), protecting the citizens of Gotham from evil. He was so squeaky clean, he drank Orange Juice at a club. But even OJ can be deadly. Side note: If "You interest me...strangely" isn't the greatest pickup line ever, I don't know what is.

Batman Begins

How many of us have thrown parties in our homes and couldn't wait for our guests to leave? How many of us have wanted to throw our guests out and call them out for being phonies who just want to drink all of our booze? Nobody does it better than Christian Bale in Batman Begins. And of course, when you throw people out of your home, do it in style, with a little Champagne. And since it's Bruce Wayne, I'm sure he's drinking some very expensive Dom Peregnon. But we must remember, Batman always acts in the interests of good, even when he's bad.

The Dark Knight

Heath Ledger should receive an Academy Award every single year for his portrayal as the Joker in The Dark Knight. There always was something a little different about his Joker, even in the way he drank Champagne...by not actually drinking it at all. Well played, sir.

Batman

Why is it that the wealthy in movies are usually eating at the opposite ends of a long table? Remember the scene in Coming to America? Do people actually eat like that? Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne tried it with Kim Basinger's Vicki. But that didn't go too well. So they moved their date to a more intimate setting, by including Alfred of course. And don't forget the wine.

We don't have many rules here at Producers In Bars. In fact, we're sort of anti-rules. But anytime we have a chance to show a scene with Jack Palance in it, we do it with gusto. The man oozes cool. And as Grissom in the first Batman movie, even before dying, he's as smooth as a shot of scotch. "Maybe we can cut a deal."

There's also the scene in this movie with The Joker drinking a martini when Alicia comes home from shopping, but we couldn't find the clip. So if anyone has it, feel free to post in the comments section.

Dark Knight Rises

The ending to Dark Knight Rises was a doozy, but that's not really important for our purposes here. The point is, Michael Caine's Alfred takes a sip of what looks to be Brandy in the cafe.
